A field notebook distinguishing Gogi-One's native world from the shipboard plants and animals released by the landed arks.
Gogi-One had native animals and weather before any ark landed. It had no humanoid inhabitants. The generation ships introduced their own closed ecologies over a period of decades or centuries. Those shipboard species escaped through damaged hulls and entered the surrounding environment.
Do not classify a species by how wild it appears. An animal living far from a wreck may still descend from ark stock. A plant in a labelled bed may have spent several generations outside before a caretaker recaptured it. Check old manifests, planter labels, feeding behavior, and distribution before recording an origin.
Promise Orchardwood: This ark tree was bred for compact roots, edible blossoms, fruit, and useful pale timber. It now grows in Gogi-One's soil. Caretakers prune it according to different ship schedules, so neighboring rows may be cut at conflicting stages of growth.
Ring Hare: These animals descend from food stock carried aboard the arks. They escaped through damaged hydroponic areas and now live throughout orchard belts and planter fields. The name came from the Cradle Drift and remained in use after landfall.
Woolback Grazer: Woolbacks were carried as fiber stock. Their descendants now range across spilled planter fields. Blanket Weavers shear them when their inherited schedules require fleece. The animals tolerate the work, and hunters usually wait until the weavers finish.
Sleepmint: This nursery herb is returned to numbered planters and clipped at the evening hour listed by each caretaker's ship clock. The local sun does not set on six different schedules, but the gardens are harvested as though it does.
Feverleaf: Six ark formularies give different preparation and dosage instructions for the same bitter medicinal leaf. Keep the ship label with every harvest. Combining instructions from different formularies is not a safe compromise.
Airsweet: This fragrant filtration vine spreads quickly between planter beds. Caretakers remove each runner and return it to an assigned row. Uncollected growth can be found along old irrigation lines and hull breaches.
Dreamroot: This pale mnemonic root is grown in controlled beds, recorded in harvest ledgers, and stored for patients who will never claim it. Caretakers still reject unrecorded roots even when the plant grew from the same escaped stock.
Cradle Nickel: Refined nickel ballast was carried for colony construction. It is not native ore, even when a resource pod has broken apart and settled beneath soil. Recovering it may trigger a caretaker inventory response.
Native weather continues to move across every imported system. Rain floods planters, wind carries seed beyond machine paths, and seasonal heat changes grazing routes. The arks did not replace Gogi-One's ecology. They added several incompatible ecologies to a living world that was already there.
